Who will be the 6 Nations top tryscorer for 2025? As 6 Nations betting heats up with two rounds of play concluded, today 6 Nations rugby analyst Jamie Hosie takes a look at this year’s 6 Nations top tryscorer market and declares his top tryscrorer best bets.
The opening two of rounds of the 2025 Six Nations have been illuminating, in what is the biggest year for the game of Rugby Union for quite some time. More than the usual bragging rights, there are World Cup markers to be laid down, with several of the competitors set to face off again later this year when the sport's showpiece event gets underway in England and Wales.
The Favourite: Jonathan Joseph, England
It's fair to say it hasn't necessarily been raining tries thus far, which means the top tryscorer market is pretty open. England's Jonathan Joseph leads the way with three in two games so far, meaning the current best price you can get on him to finish the 2025 Six Nations tournament top try scorer is 1.67 (4/6) from Coral.
But there's an important caveat to mention there. England are one of two sides to have played Italy, who are looking comfortably the weakest side this year having already shipped 73 points and eight tries. The biggest try-scoring potential will come from the teams who are yet to play the Azzurri – namely Wales, France and Scotland.
Welsh scrum-half Rhys Webb is the only player other than Joseph to have crossed the whitewash more than once so far this tournament, and with a game against Italy to play, he could be a good punt. He's available at 5.0 (7/2) with Ladbrokes – I'd argue there are better options out there.
Teams To Avoid: Ireland, France
At the moment I would recommend avoiding Irish players. They have taken to playing a thoroughly pragmatic game under Kiwi coach Joe Schmidt, which is paying dividends in terms of results, but not bringing them many tries. They have also already played against the leaky Italian defence.
The French are also probably to be avoided. After their loss against Ireland at the weekend, the team and the coach have been lambasted from
