“Edoardo Reja will need his midfield to be on top form if they are to get a result tonight as the trio of Vidal, Pogba and Pirlo for Juve are the key to their success.”

There’s a huge clash in Italy this evening as Lazio host Juventus and with all the action live on BT Sport 2 at 19:45 GMT, Paul Robinson thinks the visitors can be opposed at odds-on.
Lazio are in ninth place in Serie A after 20 fixtures and while they will be disappointed with that, they are only five points behind fifth placed Inter. They had a bit of a sticky patch during March but since the end of the winter break, it’s been three wins and a draw in all competitions for The Eagles.
Victories over Inter and Udinese in the league were added to with a win over Parma in the Coppa Italia, and while they were held at Bologna, that isn’t too bad a result all things considered.
Edoardo Reja will need his midfield to be on top form if they are to get a result tonight as the trio of Vidal, Pogba and Pirlo for Juve are the key to their success. Antonio Candreva and Hernanes have the ability to cause problems for the opposition and while the latter was only on the bench last time out at Udinese, he came on and scored the winner in injury time.
Juventus suffered a bit of a shock cup exit at Roma on Tuesday but they weren’t quite at full strength and they will be keen to right that wrong to go 11 points clear at the top of Serie A this evening.
The Old Lady have won 18 of 20 league fixtures this term and it’s been an incredible 12 victories in a row since the 4-2 reverse at Fiorentina back in October. They don’t have many weaknesses at all, but they didn’t make it through their Champions League group and it will be interesting to see how they react to the Roma defeat.
Antonio Conte’s men have won their last three games against Lazio but the Rome based club did enjoy a Copa Italia success back in January 2025 at Stadio Olimpico.
It’s hard to argue against Juventus being the favourites but Lazio have plenty of top quality players who can beat anyone on their day. I just feel the visitors are a bit too short in the betting, which is why, at around the 1.768/11 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
