Lay Under 2.5 goals in Atletico PR v Velez @ 1.625/8
There’s a big Copa Libertadores clash live on ESPN tonight at 01:00 GMT and Paul Robinson thinks that the goals are going to flow when Atletico PR take on Velez.
Atletico PR have one foot in the last 16 of this competition as after four fixtures they sit top of their group with nine points. While today’s opponents have an identical record, the top two go through and it’s a three point gap back to The Strongest in third.
Miguel Ángel Portugal’s side still have to travel to Bolivia to take on The Strongest for their final game so they will be desperate to take all three points here and cement their place at the head of the group. That will force them to go all out for the victory from the off and that in turn should lead to goals – which is a regular occurrence at Arena da Baixada as six of the Hurricane’s last seven there have gone over 2.5.
Velez won the reverse fixture 2-0 back in February but a defeat to the Bolivians has ruined their 100% record. The Argentines have always been a pretty consistent team but the manager left after the Torneo Inicial – as well as some of the players – and while they are still churning out good results, they’ve had some pretty poor ones as well.

They did manage to find the net four times themselves over the course of those games – and they racked up three at Arsenal prior to that – but it’s hard to see them keeping a clean sheet in Brazil.
I think we’re going to be in for a high-scoring home win here, so with under 2.5 goals trading at around the 1.625/8 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
