Arsenal Must Cash in on Palace Entrée
Having been defeated by Borussia Dortmund in mid-week, albeit in a game that they could easily have won, Arsenal have yet to dispel the notion that they gobble up the small teams, and get indigestion when the big boys come to dinner. They imminently face an absolutely critical period in their Premier League season, which will decide whether or not they are serious title contenders, at least figuratively.
Before that, though, they face a Palace team who should already be programming the venus of Championship grounds into the team bus’ satellite navigation system in preparation for next season. Palace look utterly doomed, and being managerless for this fixture won’t exactly help them out.
The Gunners must pick up three points and keep their run going, while hoping that City and Chelsea draw in the big match of the weekend. With a five point gap at the top from their two most obvious title rivals, Arsenal could face their testing autumnal period with a merited confidence.
