Backing Barcelona in Malaga Clash
League leaders Barcelona meet one of this La Liga campaign’s surprise packages when they travel to the seaside town of Malaga to meet the side that are currently fourth in La Liga, behind only the Madrid giants and Barca themselves.
One has to commend Malaga on their tremendous effort this season, with their current Champions League campaign going extremely well, with the unfashionable Spanish side having already qualified for the last sixteen. However, there will be no European football for Malaga next season, with the club banned from European competition by UEFA due to unpaid tax bills and players’ wages.
Despite the quality of the home side, with them able to boast the likes of Demichelis, Saviola and Joaquin in their ranks, it is hard to see them being able to deal with a rampant Barcelona. The Catalans put four goals past Espanyol in nineteen minutes in their previous Liga fixture, and with only two points dropped so far this in their league campaign, and the newly crowned fourth consecutive Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi leading their attack, it is very hard to look beyond the La Liga leaders for a winner in this fixture.
There are several betting options that are worth a look in this one, but I particularly think backing Barca to score at least three goals offers good value. This is rated as a better than even option, yet Barca have averaged nearly 3.5 goals per fixture, and with no Champions League on the horizon, Barca are sure to select their strongest eleven.
So my tip is to back Barca to bag at least three goals in this one.
