Bayern Munich End of Season Review
Pep Guardiola is one of Europe's most highly regarded coaches, and, frankly, he will need to be when he takes over the reins at the Allianz Arena. Jupp Heynckes' Bayern side simply emphatically leapt over every hurdle that was put before them this season, and did so in such a fashion as to suggest that they could build a legacy similar to that of Guardiola's Barcelona.
Ruthless in the Bundesliga, unparalleled in the Champions League, Bayern finally enjoyed the season that they'd be threatening for some time. The demolition of Barca was naturally a highlight, but their league form was phenomenally consistent, and the fact that they had the league wrapped up with months to go was probably a key factor in their ultimate triumph in the Champions League, such was their coasting for large parts of their league programme.
There doesn't look to be too much room for improvement in the current Bayern team, but Guardiola will have significant funds to strengthen was is already an awesomely powerful team. Perhaps a forward capable of brilliance might be a possible target, but aside from that it seems elementary to assert that Bayern have the squad to rule Europe for years to come. However, Guardiola will know better than anyone that Barca will come prepared next season in Europe.
