Bayern to Clinch Bundesliga Title in March

Bundesliga | Article posted on March 28th, 2025

Few managers get the opportunity to join a team that is rated as one of the very best in Europe, with a supremely strong playing squad, and vast transfer budget. And it is particularly unlikely when that particular club wrapped up its domestic league title two months before the end of the season.

But that is precisely the scenario that Pep Guardiola is presented with at Bayern Munich, as the German giants will secure their 23rd Bundesliga title at the weekend, should they beat Hamburg SV and champions Borussia Dortmund fail to win at VfB Stuttgart.

Guardiola has certainly picked a difficult assignment for his first one away from his native Barcelona, as at present it is rather difficult to see how he could improve upon the work of current Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes. This has been a hugely successful season for Bayern whatever occurs in the remaining weeks of the season, but their acid test will be whether they can go one better on last season’s runner-up slot in the Champions League.

With a challenging test against Juventus to overcome in the quarter-final stage, and potential matches to come against Real Madrid, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, Guardiola may at least take comfort in the fact that he can improve upon Heynckes work by securing a Champions League title.
