Bookies Believe Bale Transfer Tug-of-war will be Settled in Real’s Favour
The most high profile transfer saga of the summer has been Real Madrid’s pursuit of the Tottenham winger Gareth Bale. The figures being talked about which are involved in the transfer will be of the world record variety should a deal be completed.
Spurs continue to deny that Bale will be sold, despite the advances of the world’s richest football club. The Guardian reported today that Andre Villas-Boas had shrugged off Bale’s non-appearance in a friendly as being simply indicative of the fact that he had a minor injury.
Elsewhere, though, other media report that Bale will move to Real in due course, once the two clubs have agreed a suitable deal. The Daily Mirror reports that Real Madrid’s star players are already anticipating the arrival of the Welsh winger, while Caught Offside moots the prospect that Tottenham will target Eredivisie stars Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld in an attempt to replace Bale.
Thus, the bookies already consider it heavily odds on that Bale will be lining up in Spain next season. Time will tell.
