Bundesliga Top Goalscorer Preview
While Bayern Munich dominate virtually every betting market in the Bundesliga, this is one particular market in which Bayern players are not top of the tree.
The most fancied Bayern Munich player for the top goalscorer market is their forward Mario Mandzukic. The Croatian scored fairly prolifically for the European champions last season, but is not guaranteed a starting place, making only 25 appearances in the Bundesliga last season. Thus, he is rated as a 7/1 shot by William Hill, but merits consideration.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a hat-trick in his opening appearance for Borussia Dortmund, and his odds have been slashed to 10/1 by William Hill. It is another Dortmund player who is the favourite in the market, though. Robert Lewandowski rattled in the goals for Borussia last season, and became one of the most sought after forwards in Europe, hence his 7/2 odds for this market with numerous bookmakers.
Other major forwards fancied for this market are Stefan Kießling of Bayer Leverkusen, and Klaas Jan Huntelaar of Schalke. The latter, in particular, merits very serious consideration, given his prolific record in the Bundesliga.
Ultimately, though, I think the bookies have got in right on this one, and my tip for this market is the brilliant Robert Lewandowski.
