He has a big engine and took a giant leap forward in terms of form when winning at Kempton over Christmas. That form has been well franked by the subsequent performance of the remote fourth Zip Top, and he remains with plenty of scope to progress further (green off the bridle and can take a grip in the early stages).

The RSA has a wide open look to it at this stage, but one horse who has been ignored in the lists is Phillip Hobbs charge. He shaped really well when finishing second twice to Kings Palace at this track (tapped for pace in muddling affairs where the top class winner was gifted an unpressed lead), and was just getting into the race when falling at Kempton last time out. The experience of the undulations round here is a massive edge, while a stiffer test of stamina that an end to end gallop will ensure is also an enormous positive.
