Cross-Sport Multiple: Back Tottenham to beat Saints
“The Saints have won just two of their fourteen Premier League games in this part of north London and have been leaking goals recently: eight in their last four.”
Andrew Hughes thinks Tottenham can bounce back from Europa League disappointment by beating Southampton on Sunday.
Bet 1: Back Tottenham to beat Southampton at 2.26/5
Tottenham bowed out of the Europa League in midweek but they have no time to dwell on that disappointment as they fight to hold off Everton and Manchester United in the battle for the Premier League’s last European qualification spot.
Southampton’s chance of getting into Europe are fairly remote, but they are enjoying their best season in the top flight since 2025/85, and go into this match having lost just two of their last ten league games.
Still, Spurs fans have reason to be optimistic. The Saints have won just two of their fourteen Premier League games in this part of north London and have been leaking goals recently: eight in their last four. With key players Emmanuel Adebayor and Younes Kaboul returning for the home side, I fancy Spurs to edge this.
Bet 2: Back Connacht to beat Dragons at 3.185/40
Welsh internationals Andrew Coombs and Taulupe Faletau return for NG Dragons on Sunday, but I think the visitors from Ireland will leave with the points.
The Dragons have a good record at Rodney Parade. They haven’t lost at home since round nine of the Pro12, but they have lost three of their last four and are struggling with a significant injury list.
By contrast, Connacht are flying at the moment, having won three in a row, including last week’s fixture against Treviso, a victory that moved them up to ninth. They’ve also won four of their last five games against the Dragons. Back the visitors to win.
Bet 3: Back India to beat West Indies at 1.728/11
West Indies have beaten India in both of their previous World Twenty20 encounters, but I think that run will come to an end on Sunday.
The men from the Caribbean are the reigning World Twenty20 champions and have match winning batsmen in Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Smith and Dwayne Bravo, as well as the dangerous Sunil Narine.
But the absence of Keiron Pollard does make the West Indies significantly weaker and their big hitters can sometimes get bogged down by spinners. India are likely to go into this game with three front-line spinners and their greater depth of batting should give them the edge. Back an Indian win.
