Daily Dynamo Selection – Eintracht Frankfurt v Hannover
As the Bundesliga season draws to a close, the away side here will be more than satisfied with the way that its campaign has unfolded. With five games to go they are five points about the drop zone, which will be more than an acceptable outcome to the season should their Bundesliga status be maintained. But with a win tomorrow the hosts could reach their similar target for this season and avoid relegation, so both have their motivation for this relegation six-pointer.
One of the interesting facts about this match-up is that Frankfurt are sitting after the Winter break on the second best record in Germany for home fixtures. This is a pretty outstanding achievement given their lowly status, with Eintracht outscoring the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen.
The visitors don't come into the best form, with only one win out of their last five matches; their 2-1 victory last weekend at home over struggling Hamburg. Historically, this has been a good fixture for them, with Hannover having won four out of their last six matches against Frankfurt. But history counts for little on the football field, and the fact remains that they are in extremely poor form.
Thus, I'm backing Eintracht to come away with three points here and secure their Bundesliga status for another season.
