Paris Saint-Germain look to be coming out on top in their season long battle with Monaco for the Ligue 1 title. The French side have played excellent attacking football all season, and are now just a few wins away from securing their second consecutive French title. This away day against Lorient will be viewed as another eminently winnable game as PSG continue their inexorable progress in the domestic competition.

Lorient are having a decent season, with survival in Ligue 1 pretty much the summit of their ambition. With this in mind, their mid-table position, eight points clear of the drop zone is more than satisfactory and they might actually fancy a bash at the league leaders. Nonetheless, they don't have anything like the quality or firepower inherent in the PSG line-up.

Thus, PSG are virtually unbackable here, and it's necessary to look at alternative markets in order to find viable best. Certainly I think the league leaders will win again, so we can rule out the winner market straight away.

PSG's games this season have gleaned an average of three goals per game, thus I think the over 2.5 goals bet seems to be a pretty good option for the safe bet for this fixture. I can actually see PSG turning Lorient over as they have a good rest coming into this match with no European game in mid-week, so the over 3.5 goal market looks an excellent option to me for a value bet.
