Daily Dynamo Selection – Marseille v Nice
After a week comprised of international football, the French Ligue 1 gets back underway with this home fixture for Champions League chasing Marseille. Nice would simply like to stay above the relegation zone, which looks highly possible given the nine point gap that they've built up over the drop zone in the season thus far.
Marseille had a disappointing if predictable loss at PSG in their last fixture, and will hope to get back to winning ways here. Form before that defeat had been pretty decent, but Marseille will definitely want to forget about the last incredible meeting between these teams, when Nice eliminated them from the Coupe de France on their home turf by a scarcely believable scoreline of 5-4.
Since that unlikely victory, Nice have won only once, and you wonder if they used up all of their goals during that match. They have slid down the table slightly as a result of this run of form, and have scored only 23 goals in Ligue 1 this season; just one more than bottom of the table Ajaccio. However, their defence has held up fairly well, which has generally been their strength in their league fixtures.
Marseille still retain an outside hope of qualifying for the Champions League, which their supporters will see as their rightful place, and they look the stronger of the two teams coming into this game. I think they will see off Nice without too much difficulty.
Selections: Safe Bet – Marseille to win (1/2 with BetVictor), Value Bet – Marseille to win by 2 goals (16/5 with BetVictor)
