Daily Dynamo Selection – Montpellier v Monaco
AS Monaco continue to pursue Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the French league table, in a week in which they received some rather bizarre good news. With the French government imposing a 75% super tax on footballers, it may be that the tax haven becomes a very attractive destination for the world's top footballers, especially given their newly found vast wealth.
In the immediate future, though, Monaco's expensively assembled squad can still win this year's Ligue 1 title, and will anticipate three points here against a lowly Montpellier side. The home side have managed only two victories this season in Ligue 1, and although many of their defeats have been pretty narrow, it's hard to see them troubling Radamel Falcao et al too much.
Falcao hasn't quite carried his La Liga form into this season, and arguably James Rodriguez has been the more successful signing for Monaco, but with nine league goals he undoubtedly remains a threat. Without doubt, PSG have looked the most fluent team in Ligue 1 this season, scoring twelve more goals than Monaco, but the team from the island principality have nevertheless looked a very capable and cohesive unit.
This could be a close game, as suggested by Montepllier's 11 draws in the league this season. So my Daily Dynamo Selection for this match if for the under 2.5 goals bet.
