Daily Dynamo Selections – Arsenal v Liverpool
There are two huge FA Cup ties this weekend, and the first of them pits an Arsenal side that has struggled in recent weeks against a Liverpool team that is flying. Arsene Wenger has already strongly implied that he will make numerous changes for this match, and this could conceivably make Liverpool slight favourites.
The bookmakers don't see it quite that way, though, with Arsenal slight odds favourites. All three results look possible here given the lack of form that the Gunners go into the game with and the fact that it probably won't be the strongest Arsenal line-up fielded. Liverpool also walloped Arsenal at Anfield just a week previous to this fixutre. It is worth remembering though that Arsenal saw off Liverpool very comfortably at the Emirates earlier this season, and cannot be written off.
The form of Suarez and Sturridge has been instrumental to Liverpool's recent form and success, and the Reds have now scored nearly as many goals as Manchester City. But they can also leak them too, and Arsenal are well capable of picking them off at the back. I think that the onus will be on Arsenal to take the game to Liverpool after their rather toothless display against Manchester United, and this could make for a very entertaining game.
Funnily enough, I fancy Arsenal to win this one. Liverpool are dodgy at the back, and I think the Gunners can exploit this. Meanwhile, the likes of Podolski have been due a run out for a while, and I think they'll make the most of this opportunity.
