This is surely the most dramatic La Liga title race in years. After both Madrid clubs dropped points in their previous fixtures, Barcelona must be kicking themselves. Many Barca fans feel that they’ve absolutely thrown away the title this year, with some dismal peformances in La Liga in recent weeks. The Granada defeat for Barca in particular was unforgivable. Even one point in that game and their destiny would still be in their own hands. It still might be if Real drop more points, but it is difficult to argue that Barca deserve to win it.

Atletico know they must yet travel to the Camp Nou, and that should Barcelona win that game then they will almost certainly finish ahead of Atleti. Meanwhile, a Barca win in that game could hand the title to Real, although they also dropped points at home in their last fixture in this enthralling title race.

Under usual circumstances, a home game for Atletico against a mid-table Malaga side who have lost their last two La Liga fixtures and have little or nothing to play for would look like a walkover. But Atletico look to be beginning to feel the pressure a little now, and it is quite clear that the La Liga title race is wide open again now. But Atleti have been awesome at home this season, Spain's only unbeaten side on home turf, and I feel they will find a way to stumble over the line in this one to keep their slender advantage intact.
