Daily Dynamo Selections – Borussia Mönchengladbach v Bayer Leverkusen
Having won ten games this season, Borussia Mönchengladbach still have a hope of qualifying for next season's Champions League, which would be a pretty big triumph for the club. However, this will obviously be a severe test of their credentials, against a team generally considered to be the main challenger to Bayern Munich at the top of the table this term (albeit one with little chance of overhauling them).
Obviously the bookmakers make Bayern overwhelming favourites for the title, but Bayer Leverkusen have performed superbly to claim the second position in the table. If they manage to hold off Borussia Dortmund for the remainder of this season they will have had an excellent season indeed.
But their opponents here have also been impressive in the Bundesliga. If you look at the statistics for the two sides, it is only the fact that Bayer Leverkusen have conceded a few less goals that separate them. Both Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach have netted 36 times this season, and it is only by virtue of nicking a few narrow wins that Leverkusen are ahead in the table.
Thus, this could be an extremely close game. Bayer will obviously go to Borussia Park with hopes of winning, but I can see the home side denying them in this meeting of two evenly matched teams.
