Daily Dynamo Selections – Espanyol v Villareal
While the big three in Spain continue to dominate this La Liga season, Villareal are pushing for a Champions League place even if they are currently slightly outside of the top four. The fifth-placed club will view this away day at Espanyol as a must win game if they are to keep up their European ambitions.
Villareal's away record has been pretty decent this season as well. They have already won five times away from home, an above average return for a team of their status. They will need to be at their best here, though, as the home side have won more than they've lost on their home turf.
Espanyol's weakness is a lack of goals. Having netted marginally more than one goal per game in La Liga, they have a negative goal difference. Outside of the big three, Villareal are actually the top scorers in the division and this could decide the game in their favour.
Nevetheless, the home side are marginal favourites for this game. This is understandable as if it goes according to form one would expect Espanyol to come out on top purely due to their home advantage. This will probably be a close game, though, and I think value lies elsewhere in the winner market.
I fancy that the draw offers the best value option for this fixture, and I also expect this to be a tight game, so the under 2.5 goals bet also looks a wise choice.
Selections: Safe Bet – Under 2.5 goals (3/4 with BetVictor) , Value Bet – (23/10 with Ladbrokes)
