Serie A rivals Juventus and Fiorentina renew their Europa League rivalry with this second-leg of their last sixteen tie. The home side have already secured the Serie A title for a third consecutive season all but mathematically, and are the bookmakers' favourites to win the Europa League. Thus, they are strong favourites to win this tie, but Fiorentina are having a decent season in Serie A, still in with an outside chance of a Champions League place, and will hope to hang on to their narrow away goal advantage from the first-leg.
Unfortunately for the Florence-based club, Fiorentina have been pretty poor in recent weeks, losing three of their last five matches. However, they returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win over Chievo in their previous fixture, and they may have gained some confidence from this vital three points. In truth, it looks as if the Champions League will be beyond them this season, making this match even more important in the context of their season as a whole.
It's hard to look beyond Juventus for this one, though, This fixture was played out just over a week ago in Serie A, producing the classic Italian scoreline of a 1-0 win for the home side. Juventus have a phenomenal record in Serie A this season, and almost have a superiority complex over the rest of the teams in Italy, and I expect them to see off Fiorentina in this tie.
