Daily Dynamo Selections – Liverpool v Chelsea
Both of these teams have been involved in a series of fixtures in recent week which have been billed the most important of the season, but Liverpool are getting so close to being in a mathematically unassailable position in the Premier League that this is undoubtedly their biggest game of the season so far. Victory would almost certainly see them win the EPL title at the end of the season, a draw would leave them in a strong position, and defeat would see Chelsea retain their title chances and hand Manchester City a real opportunity to come out on top.
Thus, Chelsea must win. But one thing Jose Mourinho's team are not great at doing is playing an open game. They like to sit deep and then counter-attack like an uncoiled spring, but there will be an onus on them to change their natural game here, given that a point is basically useless to them.
However, Moruinho will doubtless set Chelsea up not to give anything away easily to Liverpool's formidable attack. Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling have been rampant in recent weeks, and the Portugese will probably look to stop them playing before achieving any heroics with his own players.
Thus, this could be a tighter game than we have seen in Liverpool's other recent fixtures. But Chelsea's Champions League programme could detract from their chances here, and I'm backing Liverpool to triumph in front of an impassioned Anfield crown.
Selections: Safe Bet – Over 2.5 goals (3/5 with BetVictor), Value Bet – Liverpool 2 – 1 Chelsea (8/1 with Stan James)
