Daily Dynamo Selections – Lyon v Juventus
Juventus have travelled far and wide this season. From Italy to Spain and back again. From Italy to Denmark and back. Over to Turkey and back to Turin — twice! It’s been quite a travel-filled European journey that has covered hundreds upon thousands of miles, from one end of the continent to the other. And after all that hard work, the Serie A leaders are now favourites to win the Europa League, with the possibility of a European trophy and Serie A title in the same season now looking a likely prospect.
The way Juventus have been playing for the better part of their stint in the Europa League, we don’t know how they will react to the 2-0 drubbing at the hands of Napoli this past weekend. Undoubtedly their better performances have been reserved for Serie A this term. But the fact remains that they have stumbled their way through to this late stage of the competition, and have a huge amount of European pedigree and experience which will make them strong favourites.
Lyon have a huge number of players out injured, or more than likely to be out injured, for this game. If Juventus ever wanted a chance to snatch an away goal and pull off the classic Italian away day performance, then this is it. I fancy the experienced Italians to nick a one-nil win.
