Daily Dynamo Selections – Manchester City v Chelsea
The title race was changed profoundly by Chelsea's victory at Manchester City just a couple of weeks ago. Now the two meet again, and the winner will certainly be installed as the favourite to win the FA Cup.
Since that victory, Chelsea have shown their inconsistency at times this season by drawing at West Brom. Nevertheless, the trend of the Blues' form is generally upward, with Jose Mourinho's outfit unbeaten in their last ten EPL games, the only club in the division able to claim this. City meanwhile had been smashing all-comers until they met Chelsea, but that defeat seems to have opened up some wounds, and they have since played out a rather uninspired 0-0 draw with Norwich City.
It's doubtful that City would have wanted their home game with Sunderland to be cancelled due to bad weather, but the break that it has given them might do a great deal of good to their chances in this game. As much as City have an awesome squad, they have some key players out injured, and a bit of a break for the squad certainly won't have been a bad thing for them.
Having said that, City have the looming presence of Barcelona on the horizon so there could be changes made by Manuel Pellegrini. Chelsea have a much easier Champions League draw, and so can probably afford to play close to their strongest eleven. I think this will be a serious advantage, and I think they'll claim another good result, leaving Eastlands with a draw.
