Daily Dynamo Selections – Manchester City v Southampton

City remain favourites to win the title but Southampton should provide more of a challenge than the average visitor to the Etihad this season. Still, three points here would put Manuel Pellegrini’s team a point behind Liverpool with the top two set to collide next weekend. Playing in the early kick-off also gives City the opportunity to put a little more pressure on Liverpool and Chelsea with a 14th home win in 15 games.

The title race looks set to go down to the wire this season, with Liverpool and Chelsea both still in with a pretty good chance of denying City their ultimate goal of winning the Premier League. However, City are still the odds on favourites and my personal pick for the league, and if they can get a point at Anfield next week, they will surely be well on their way to winning their second title in three seasons.

Southampton are known for playing some attractive football, but Manchester City have beaten every visitor to the Etihad this season apart from Chelsea. It is thus extremely difficult to see the Saints managing to pick up even a point here, thus my Daily Dynamo Selections reflect the fact that I expect City to see off Southampton quite comfortably.
