Daily Dynamo Selections – Real Sociedad v Racing Santander
Ahead of this La Liga battle between Sociedad and Santander, reports persist all over the British press that EPL title hopefuls Chelsea are tracking the attacking midfielder / forward Antoine Griezmann, with the intention of tying up a deal before the January transfer window is closed. Whether or not this is true, what can be said for certain is that the young Frenchman has been instrumental to Sociedad's season, and losing him would surely be a disastrous blow to their European hopes.
In the meantime, Racing return to Copa del Rey action here with an excellent change of progressing to the last four. Having beaten Racing Santander 3-1 in the first-leg of this tie, it looks highly likely that the top flight side will progress, but they will be weary of travelling to an away ground where the home side has had big success this season, currently topping their league table.
Sociedad's league position has been mostly predicated on their home form, so they will have to beware a strong effort from the home side here, who only require a 2-0 win in order to create an upset. Santander are a more than decent side on their home patch, and they showed in the first-leg that they are capable of scoring goals.
I think Sociedad will keep it pretty tight here and be happy with a low-scoring draw. They're probably not confident enough to go to Santander and win comfortably, so my Daily Dynamo Selection here is a draw.
Selections: Safe Bet – Draw (14/5 with Bet365), Value Bet – Racing Santader 1 – 1 Real Sociedad (7/1 with Paddy Power)
