Daily Dynamo Selections – Schalke v Eintracht Frankfurt
Schalke look to have confirmed their qualification for next season's Champions League already, but they will want to keep their current decent form going as they host Einracht Frankfurt. A win will see Schalke almost certainly confirmed as a participant in next season's premier European competition.
While the home side have shown themselves to be a strong outfit this term, the ongoing debate over whether their star player, Julian Draxler, must be of concern to Schalke fans. The attacking midfielder seems certain to leave at the end of season, with a raft of Europe's top clubs keen on snapping him up.
Thus, Schalke must make hay while the sun shines and they have Draxler in their outfit. So they will certainly be targeting a win here against a Frankfurt side who are mediocre at best. Eintracht have an okay record away from home, having won four matches in the Bundesliga this term away from their home turf, but they will certainly start as second favourites here, although their recent result have been pretty decent.
Schalke have had a good run in the Bundesliga though, having gone unbeaten over their previous six fixtures. While they were very much short of the quality required to deal with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, they have occupied the role of flat track bully aptly, and I expect them to send Eintracht home with their tails between their legs.
Selections: Safe Bet – Schalke to win (3/4 with Paddy Power), Value Bet – Schalke to win by 2 goals (4/1 with BetVictor)
