Daily Dynamo Selections – Tottenham Hotspur v Cardiff City
Tottenham's hopes of a Champions League place receded significantly last week when they were surprisingly beaten by under pressure Chris Hughton's Norwich. They will attempt to recover from that result with a home game against another struggling side, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Cardiff City.
Spurs have had a pretty good run under Tim Sherwood despite last week's reverse, and they are very strong favourites to win this match against a Cardiff side that looked doomed to relegation at present. The away side were always going to have a tough job on their hands to stay in the EPL, and the erratic ownership and tutelage of Vincent Tan hasn't exactly helped.
Cardiff simply haven't scored enough goals, yet to register 20 in the Premier League. When this is coupled with the fact that Tottenham have been a very cautious side at home generally, playing a ball retention game, then this could lead you to believe that this will be a low-scoring fixture.
Certainly the bookmakers' odds make Spurs unbackable for this one, so we must look elsewhere for any value. The home side has been playing some excellent attacking football at times under Sherwood, despite firing blanks at Norwich, and surely the Spurs manager must send Tottenham out to attack with their hopes of a Champions League place slipping away due to the excellent form of the top four.
So I can actually see Spurs putting a demoralised Cardiff side to the sword here, and my daily dynamo selections reflect this.
