Daily Dynamo Selections – Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City
There is no doubt what is the highlight of the full mid-week Premier League programme; Manchester City will travel to Spurs hoping to keep their extraordinary recent run going. Seriously scared but not bowed by Watford at at the weekend, City will nevertheless hope and need to turn in a better display against one of the Premier League's best teams.
Tottenham's recent record against City is pretty dreadful, and there was s a perfect example of this earlier this season, when Spurs were thrashed 6-0 at the Etihad Stadium. They have looked far more confident under Tim Sherwood, though, and are currently unbeaten in six Premier League fixtures. However, this run will come under severe threat from City who have been rattling goals in for fun of late. With 63 already netted in the league, it seems absolutely certain than the title hopefuls will notch a century during the EPL season.
Apart from their hammering away at City, Tottenham have a pretty decent defensive record, but have struggled for goals at times. By contrast, City have leaked a fair few as well as scoring prolifically.
So it's quite hard to call what will happen here. City certainly look to have the stronger midfield, which is where the modern game is so often won and lost, and they'll surely play a pretty open game. I don't think Tottenham will be good enough to deal with them, I think City will control the ball in midfield, so my Daily Dynamo Selections reflect this.
Selections: Safe Bet – Over 2.5 goals (3/5 with BetVictor), Value Bet – Manchester City to win (21/20 with Paddy Power)
