Daily Dynamo Selections – Udinese v Juventus
Juventus' apparently inexorable march to the Serie A title has stumbled a little, with the Turin-based club's competitive edge perhaps blunted by the lead that they held over Roma and their attempts to win the Europa League. Nonethtless, three points here against Udinese will see Juventus eight points clear with five games to go and almost certain to win their third consecutive Serie A title.
Not surprisingly they are overwhelming favourites to do so. It doesn't get much better than Juventus' home record this season, they've won all sixteen league matches that they've play at the Stadio delle Alpi this season, but they also have the best away record in Serie A. Thus, they are strong odds on favourites to win here. That said, Udinese have been pretty good at home this season, winning on eight occasions, so this may not be a walkover for the champions elect.
But with no European distractions in mid-week, Juventus will surely be putting all of their energy into winning this one, which would put them in an extremely strong position in the final furlong of the season.
It could be a close game, though, given that Juve only saw off Udinese by a single Fernando Llorente goal earlier this season. So my Daily Dynamo Selections reflect the fact that I think Juventus will come out on top in this one narrowly.
