So based on my previous Daily Dynamo Selection, Spain, Argentina, Germany and Brazil will make the World Cup semi-finals. But who will ultimately come out on top?

Firstly, although I have been an unashamed supporter of this Spanish side for some time, and I believe they deserve to be recognised as the greatest international side of all-time, I don’t think Spain will make the final. This Spanish team has played a lot of football this season, and I think they might just run out of legs against a hugely motivated, if flawed, Argentinian side.

Germany probably have the second strongest squad in the competition after Spain, and are typically an extremely strong, well organised and competitive team. This particular German team adds flair to the mix, and I would back them to make the semi-finals, where they may very well face Brazil. This will potentially be a true classic, but I'm tipping the host nation to eliminate Germany.

This would lead to an absolute dream final between Brazil and Argentina. As always this is a talented Brazilian team, but additionally they have probably the best defensive line-up in the history of Brazilian football. I think this could be the decisive factor, as Spain found to their cost in the Confederations Cup last year. Argentina have a notoriously shaky defence, and even Lionel Messi might not be enough to inspire Argentina to victory.

Ultimately, I expect the most successful team in World Cup history to pick up another major trophy.
