Dominant Dortmund Continue to Impress
Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund continue to set the early pace as Bayern Munich struggle to match the quality of last season’s Champions League finalist’s football in the early Bundesliga exchanges.
Despite the bad news for Dortmund that was absorbed this week, which is that Robert Lewandowksi has signalled his intention to move to Bayern Munich at the end of his contract, the form of Dortmund has been unaffected. Indeed, Lewandowski rattled in two as Dortmund walloped Freiburg by five goals to nil.
With the season now over a month old, it is Dortmund who have impressed far more than their rivals Bayern, with the reigning Champions League winners stuttering somewhat despite the travails of Pep Guardiola. Nonetheless, no points separate the two rivals, and it looks like being an extremely close two-horse race for most of the season.
