England v Germany – Match Preview and Betting Tips
Introduction
After a fairly dismal showing in the first of two friendly matches, England face one of their historic rivals in the shape of Germany, with Roy Hodgson doubtless to see more encouraging signs than were witnessed in their 2-0 home defeat to Chile. If the South Americans ruthlessly exposed England’s lack of world-class talent, there must be a few feelings of trepidation in the England camp before this fixture, given the fact that the Germans have one of, if not the best, squads in world football.
Winner
Many England fans will be fearing the worst for this fixture, especially given the pretty woeful performance that England turned in against Chile. Germany certainly have the ability to give England a pasting here, but this is certainly a more important fixture for the home side than the visitors, and the Germans have already indicated that they will rest some of their key players for the England match. Such is the depth of class in the German squad that they are still more than capable of winning, but I think a committed England will manage to scrape a draw.

Correct Score
This will probably be a hard fought and pretty tight game, and I can’t see there being a lot of goals. I’m tempted to go for a goalless draw, but I will instead predict that the two sides will share two goals.

First Goalscorer
England are likely to put their first-choice forward line on the pitch from the start in this game, and Wayne Rooney has been in excellent form for Manchester United. But I’m going to tip the profound talented young midfielder Marco Reus to open the scoring here.
