Guardiola Maintains Indian Sign over Mourinho
Jose Mourinho was one minute from ending a rather unpleasant record in the European Super Cup final, namely his appalling personal record against Pep Guardiola.
This had been referenced by the press in the build up to the game, the suggestion of which had made Mourinho respond angrily. Later, he relented, and conceded that the media’s statistics – namely that he’d won 3 out of 15 against Guardiola – were in fact accurate.
Well, you can make that 3 out of 16, as Bayern equalised in the last minute of the final, and then, not for the first time for a German team, managed to see off Chelsea on penalties.
Mourinho’s jinx goes on, and the ruthlessly ambitious manager will doubtless hope to put things right in this season’s Champions League.
