Italy v Germany – Match Preview and Betting Tip
Introduction
Two of the iconic national teams in world football meet in Rome, as Italy face Germany. One would certainly say that this particular German vintage is more impressive than the present Italian side, but there is no doubt that the Italians will be a tough nut to crack on their home turf. This is certainly one of the most attractive friendly matches that one could hope to watch.
Winner
Germany have a wealth of talent in their squad, and possibly the second best midfield in world football after the Spanish. But Italy very rarely lose at home, and despite the fact that there is a huge reliance in the current Italian on the admittedly brilliant Andrea Pirlo, the Italians can never be written off at home. Thus, I think the draw, which is the rank outsider for this market, offers the best value.
My tip: Draw

Correct Score
You don’t exactly expect a high scoring game when Italy play, and they’re almost certain to play a very tight game against this very high class German side. I can only see Italy sitting deep and trying to hit the Germans on the break, relying on the quality of their defence which contains the likes of Juventus’ Andrea Barzagli. Thus, I’m going to go for a low scoring draw in this market.
My tip: Italy 1 – 1 Germany

First Goalscorer
The most backable forward who we know will be on the field for this one would seem to be the experienced Miroslav Klose, who has been an absolute stalwart for the Germans. However, I’m going to tip one of my favourite players in world football, the brilliant midfielder Marco Reus, to open the scoring.
My tip: Marco Reus
