Manchester City v Crystal Palace – Match Preview and Betting Tip
The favourite for the league title takes on the favourite for relegation on its home turf here, with Manchester City's home form having been nothing short of spectacular. Thus, you don't need to be Nostradamus to predict that the home side will be overwhelming favourites for this game.
However, if football was played on reputation alone then it would be terribly predictable. There are many examples of teams pulling off unlikely results in the league, and Palace have certainly improved under the tutelage of Tony Pulis. Even the much maligned Marouane Chamakh has shown considerable signs of improvement, going on something of a mini scoring spree.
Nevertheless, the total and utter gulf in quality between these two sides makes it impossible for me to believe that Palace will get anything out of this game. In particular, City have looked simply awesome in midfield over the last few weeks, and I anticipate that City will win this one very comfortably.
However, given what we know about Tony Pulis and the way he sets his teams up, I think Palace will keep the score respectable. During the time he managed Stoke, the Potters became known as one the league's most competitive teams, and I think rather than getting a point out of this game, Pulis' first thought will be to keep any potential damage down to a bare minimum.
So I don't think this match will be an absolute hammering, but I expect City to win comfortably. Thus, I'm looking at the winning margin market for this match, with a bet on City to win virtually untenable. I think City will probably win by three goals to nil, so I'm looking at a three goal winning margin for my Daily Dynamo Selection for this fixture.
