Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur – Match Preview and Betting Tips
Introduction
There is no doubt that this fixture between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur is the biggest fixture of this Premier League weekend. City have been the absolute epitome of a Jekyll and Hyde outfit this term, being irresistibly good at home and irredeemably bad away from home. Anything short of a victory here would be extremely bad news for the home side, as they will fall even further behind in the title race, so my tip to win the league at the start of the season really need a win here. Spurs have performed pretty well this season given the fact that they lost Gareth Bale in the summer, but they have predictably struggled for goals and would probably settle for a point here.
Winner
Manchester City’s home record is outstanding this season, and they have simply looked like a completely different team at home to how they’ve appeared away from home. They’ve already walloped Manchester United at home this season, and I fancy that they’ll see off Tottenham.
My tip: Manchester City win
Best odds: 4/6 with Bet365
Correct Score
Tottenham have played a very tight game away from home this season, and I think this match will be no different. I think Spurs would take a goalless draw quite happily, but I think City will nick one at some stage to get the three points.
My tip: Manchester City 1 – 0 Tottenham Hotspur
Best odds: 8/1 with Bet365
Under / Over 2.5 Goals
My tip: Under 2.5 goals
Best odds: 11/10 with Paddy Power
Winning Margin
My tip: Manchester City to win by 1 goal
Best odds: 14/5 with Ladbrokes
First Goalscorer
Both of the City forwards have been in good goalscoring form lately, but in a tight game I’m going to tip a man who is often the match winner for City on the big occasion to score the only goal of the game.
My tip: Yaya Toure
Best odds: 10/1 with Ladbrokes
