Man City vs Bayern Munich Match Preview
by Graham Ruthven
When Manchester City were drawing up plans for their new training campus, club officials paid a visit to Bayern Munich. They noted how the German giants use cutting-edge sport science and analytics, but perhaps they should have asked to see their blueprint for European success.
The two sides clash on Tuesday, with City in desperate need of a win to keep their Champions League hopes alive. Anything less than three points against Pep Guardiola's side will likely send the Premier League champions crashing out of the competition.
City's perennial struggles in the competition are hard to explain. While they are a swaggering, formidable outfit domestically City seem to have something of an inferiority complex on the continent. Even after four seasons in the competition, Man City are a Champions League club in name only.
