Manchester United End of Season Review
The 2025-13 Manchester United season will unquestionably be seen as the end of an era. With the retirement of the behemothic figure of Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United must now face a future without the guidance of the greatest manager in the history of English football.
It was entirely appropriate that in his last season in charge of the Premier League’s biggest and most successful club, Sir Alex won Manchester United’s twentieth top flight title. And rather emphatically as well; this was a Premier League dominated by United once a few early defensive hiccups were overcome.
One disappointment for United was the Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid, notable for what was considered the harsh red card dealt out to Nani.
But Ferguson leaves United will an apparently strong squad full of youth for David Moyes to run the rule over. However, the outgoing Everton manager will also have a lot of issues to sort out, not least the future of Wayne Rooney. It could also be pointed out that the team was hugely reliant on Robin van Persie this term, and the Dutch striker is already the wrong side of thirty years of age.
None of this will disguise the fact United will probably start as favourites to win the league next season, but that Moyes has a huge job on his hands.
