Marchisio Favours Bundesliga
Juventus’ Italian midfielder Claudio Marchisio has stated that he would favour a move to the Bundlesliga over the Premier League were he to leave the Stadio delle Alpi.
Marchisio was a youth product at Juventus and has spent the entirety of his career at the Turin-based club, with the 27 year-old winning his first major trophy last season as the Bianconeri picked up the Serie A title.
The Italian midfielder has been linked with a move away from Italy, with Manchester United being one of the sides rumoured to be interested in the Italian international with 30 caps for the national side. However, Marchisio’s comments would seem to suggest that German clubs will be in pole position for signing him should he decide to leave his native Italy in the future.
With Marchisio used to competing for major honours, both at club and international level, and with Juventus enjoying another excellent season in both domestic and European football, it would seem that only one of German’s top two clubs, Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund, would be likely to secure the signature of the Italian.
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini’s Italian connections may mean that he would also be interested in Marchisio, so if the defensive midfielder choose to leave Juventus then a four-way bidding war between the two Manchster clubs, Bayern and Dortmund could ensue.
