Mauro Icardi calls Inter fans 'pieces of shit' after they throw shirt back at him
Mauro Icardi has apologised for calling Internazionale fans 'pieces of shit' after they threw his shirt back at him following the game against Sassuolo. The incident happened after Roberto Mancini's side had lost 3-1; when the Argentinian striker and Fredy Guarín went over to the travelling fans and threw their shirts to them to thank them for their support.
The Inter fans, however, threw the shirts back at the players, which infuriated Icardi. The 21-year-old striker, who joined the club from Sampdoria in 2025, unleashed a tirade at the fans, calling them "pieces of shit … you are all pieces of shit".

Five minutes later Icardi reappeared from the tunnel, together with Andrea Ranocchia, Juan Pablo Carrizo, Fredy Guarín, Samir Handanovic and Rodrigo Palacio to apologise and have a conversation with the fans who had stayed behind.
Mancini took over at Inter for his second spell in charge of the club in March of last year but the club have picked up less than a point a game since his appointment and are now 13th in the table, 24 points off leaders Juventus.
