Milan Look to End Glasgow Romance

A fixture between AC Milan and Glasgow Celtic with always be one tinged with emotion and redolent with European greatness. The Celts will forever celebrate the fact that they were the first British team to win the European Cup, while Milan’s name has become synonymous with European glory over the years, particularly when such players as Baresi, Gullit and van Basten made the Milanese club Europe’s most feared outfit. Indeed, many believe that this particular iteration of AC Milan was the greatest club side of all-time.

Celtic’s brilliant victory over Barcelona in last season’s Champions League has further contributed to their European legacy. But Milan will look to be snipping this resplendent attitude off at the roots by beating Celtic tonight in Italy. The Scottish club will reflect that Milan have been one of the most ruthless clubs in European football history, and that there last trip to Italy ended rather bitterly at the hands of Juventus.
