Moyes Faces Early Crisis
It was never likely to be easy to replace the most successful manager in English football history, but David Moyes would surely have hoped that the early days of his reign at Old Trafford would run rather more smoothly than they have worked out in reality. United have made their worst start to a season for over two decades, and despite a tricky start to the season in terms of fixtures, the result that they endured at the weekend, a home defeat to struggling West Brom, was not the sort of scoreline that is likely to go down well at Old Trafford.
Moyes now find himself under an inordinate amount of pressure in the early days of his Manchester United managerial career, and anything other than a win in their next Premier League fixture will see this malaise diagnosed as something of a crisis. Already United’s odds to win the Premier League have slipped out to make them higher priced than Arsenal, something that few would have predicted at the start of this campaign.
