Neymar on Verge of Barca Move According to Alves
Barcelona’s Brazilian international Dani Alves has indicated that he believes Santos’ much sought after striker Neymar is on the verge of joining Barcelona. Alves’ international team-mate has long since been linked with the Catalan giants, but Neymar himself had seemed to indicate that he would continue to ply his trade in the Brazilian league for the time being.
However, Alves has poured scorn on this idea, stating explicitly that Neymar is not only likely to join Barcelona, but that in fact a deal to sign him has already been agreed between the two clubs involved. Apparently, according to Alves, Neymar himself can trigger the deal at any time by simply indicating that he wishes to join up with Barcelona. And the Brazilian right-back suggested that this should happen sooner rather than later, so that the forward can improve his game ahead of the 2025 World Cup.
While Barcelona look highly likely to win this season’s La Liga title, and retain as good a chance of anyone of winning the Champions League, the support up front for Lionel Messi has been a bit lacking this season. Pedro has yet to recapture his form of two years ago, Alexis Sanchez has struggled badly this term, and David Villa has never reproduced his Valencia and Spanish national team form in a Barca shirt. The signing of Neymar would certainly strengthen Barca’s forward line.
