Neymar Reveals Premier League Adulation
Ahead of the clash between Brazil and England at Wembley, the Brazilian starlet Neymar, possibly the world’s hottest footballing property, announced that two of his heroes both play in the Premier League. The 20 year-old forward named two of the players who he will line up against this evening as his heroes, namely Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard.
It has long been assumed that the talented Santos goalgetter will move to Spain in the summer, with Barcelona possibly his most likely destination. Indeed, the climate, language and footballing culture would appear to be an obvious fit. But perhaps the supremely talented striker could be tempted by a Premier League move if the price was right.
Neymar previously competed in the London Olympic games tournament, in which the Brazilian team’s overwhelming favourites tag didn’t do them much good in the final, where they were beaten 2-1 by unfancied Mexico. Nonetheless, Neymar impressed throughout the tournament, and there is no doubt that all of the top Premier League clubs would be interested should he become available.
However, Barcelona and Real Madrid are the most likely destinations for Neymar, should he decide to move in the summer. Manchester City fans might wonder, though, if he could be convinced to form a South American partnership with the Argentinian forward Sergio Aguero.
