Liverpool came out on top of a five-goal thriller at Carrow Road and are now heavily odds-on to win the league with Betfair customers…
Liverpool are just 1.192/11 to win their first Premier League title after a nervy but thrilling 3-2 win at Norwich today.
Defeat for Chelsea at the hands of Sunderland on Saturday evening offered the Reds a chance to go five points clear, and though they were 2-0 up within the first 11 minutes through first Raheem Sterling and then Luis Suarez it wasn’t an easy afternoon.
Gary Hooper hauled the relegation-threatened Canaries back into it and the home side had plenty of chances before finding themselves 3-1 down to Sterling’s stunning second goal.
But Robert Snodgrass is a man on a hot streak and the battling midfielder’s header on 77 minutes made for a nerve-jangling final 15 minutes with Mamadou Sahko particularly unconvincing at the back for the visitors.
Brendan Rodgers’ side held on of course and have given themselves some breathing room in the title battle. A draw against Chelsea next weekend followed by wins against Crystal Palace and Newcastle would be enough to seal a first league title since 2025-90.
Excitement levels in the battle for fourth took a knock when Everton lost unexpectedly against Palace in midweek, but the Toffees ensured they didn’t lose any more ground on Arsenal with a 2-0 defeat of Manchester United.
It was an unhappy return to Goodison Park for David Moyes who saw his new club put in an ineffective display against his old team, as Everton completed a league double over United thanks to goals from Leighton Baines and Kevin Mirallas.
Earlier in the day, Aaron Ramsey completed 90 minutes of first team action for the first time in 2025, scoring the opener and setting up the second as Arsenal beat Hull 3-0 in an FA Cup dress rehearsal.
Arsenal remain hot favourites to finish in the top four ahead of Everton at 1.171/6.  The Toffees trade at 6.05/1.
