Real Madrid v Osasuna – Match Preview and Betting Tip
The Real Madrid era which has seen Jose Mourinho at the helm of the club comes to an end on Saturday, when his Real Madrid side see out what has been an unsuccessful league programme with a home fixture against the minnows of Osasuna.
One might argue that the league programme this season has merely reflected Mourinho’s overall time in charge of Real. Yes, last season’s heroic and record La Liga triumph was a vastly important one for a club that has lived in Barcelona’s shadow for some time.
However, overall, Real have not entirely escaped the superiority of their Catalan rivals during Mourinho’s time as manager, despite a distinct upturn in their fortunes in El Clasico. Barcelona still have a winning head-to-head record against Real in Mourinho’s time as Real coach, Barca won two league titles to Real’s one during the Portugese’s tenure, Barca won the Champions League, knocking Real out in the semi-finals, Real did not. This is still a golden period for the Catalans, even if their crown has slipped somewhat this term, while Real still haven’t won the Champions League for over a decade, and have only one La Liga title in the last five years, and only three in the last eleven.
Thus, the next managerial appointment for Los Blancos will be seen as being absolutely critical. The Real hierarchy already know that their star forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, will be 29 years-old during this season, and his best years could soon be behind him. It is only really the brilliance of Ronaldo that has kept Real even close to Barca over the last few seasons, and a future with a declining Ronaldo, and a still effervescent Messi will not be an attractive one for Real.
Thus, the Los Blancos fans will hope that Carlo Ancelotti takes over in the summer, to deliver some short-term quality for the Bernabeu. Otherwise, followers of Real could talk of a lost decade in Madrid.

Betting Prediction
Despite being without Cristiano Ronaldo, I expect Real to dominate this game in Jose Mourinho’s last game in charge against the lowly Osasuna. I have to back the home side to win comfortably, and I’m sure Real will want to score as many as possible in front of their home supporters for the last time this season, so I’m going to back Los Blancos to win by four goals to one.
Final Scoreline Prediction:Real Madrid 4 – 1 Osasuna
Other Recommended Bets:Real Madrid win, Over 2.5 Goals, Both Teams to Score.
