Real Sociedad v Real Madrid – Match Preview and Betting Tip
The worst kept secret in football is out of the bag; Jose Mourinho will not be the manager of Real Madrid next season. All that needs to be confirmed now is that Mourinho will manage Chelsea, which seems an absolute inevitability.
To say that the season has been a disappointment would be a considerable understatement. Real had already failed to achieve any of their aims for the season before the disastrous Copa del Rey final, which they not only lost on their home turf to their local rivals, but also had their best player sent off, their manager sent to the stands, and suffered the agony of hitting the woodwork three times while the scores were level.
Real Madrid managers do not get to retain their position if they win nothing and finish miles behind Barcelona in the league. Fabio Capello may ruefully reflect that he won the league and still got the bullet! Thus, Mourinho’s fate was long since sealed, and he will now try to enhance his already massive reputation further back at Chelsea (although this hasn’t been officially confirmed).
The incoming manager at Real, Carlo Ancelotti, has much in common with Mourinho. Most obviously, he coached Chelsea and guided them to a Premier League title. He is also one of the world’s top coaches, and a manager used to being involved in elite football. Ancelotti will inherit a pretty strong squad of players, and will be given significant funds to sign some of the world’s best players. But as always at Real, creating harmony and togetherness at the ruthlessly ambitious club will be the biggest challenge.
Cristiano Ronaldo will be banned for the penultimate fixture of Real’s season at Real Sociedad, and Luka Modric will likely deputise.

Betting Prediction
Without Cristiano Ronaldo, Real will not be at their strongest, with nothing to play for and a coach who is literally a dead man walking, one could easily question the motivation of the team to win this game. But I fancy that Real will have too much for a Sociedad team that is a relative minnow nowadays. I don’t expect to see an inspired Madrid display, but I think they will come out on top by two goals to one.
Final Scoreline Prediction:Real Sociedad 1 – 2 Real Madrid
Other Recommended Bets: Over 2.5 Goals, Both Teams to Score.
