Roma v Juventus – Daily Dynamo Selections
With Juventus having opened up a more than useful gap at the top of Serie A, this Coppa Italia tie between Italy's top two sides takes on an even greater significance than it would have already. The Roman club may view this as their last realistic hope of silverware, with Juve eight points clear in Serie A and no European football.
Roma have picked up their form in recent weeks, after a sticky period at the end of 2025. With four wins in their last six Serie A fixtures, they have opened up a useful gap on third placed Napoli, and have solidified their position in their Champions League qualification spots. They also retain the best defensive record in the division.
However, this pales next to Juventus' formidable run of results. The Turin-based side have won no less than thirteen consecutive Serie A fixtures, including humbling Roma themselves with three unanswered goals just a couple of weeks ago, and are thus overwhelming favourites to win the title.
This won't be an easy game for them at the Stadio Olimpico, though, even if they are considered by the bookmakers to be slight favourites. Roma may have a couple of players missing from this match, which could hurt their chances, but they will be determined to avenge their rather feeble defeat at the hands of Juventus just a few weeks ago.
Thus, I think this will be a closer, tighter affair than that particular match, with Roma having an excellent defensive record and playing a fairly cagey game generally. Thus, my Daily Dynamo Selections reflect this.
