The most controversial footballer in Italy, or quite possibly the world, is the favourite for this particular market. Mario Balotelli made quite a splash in his first season with AC Milan, and as the regular centre-forward for the Italian national side is rated as 10/3 favourite for this market, the best odds available coming from Coral.
Other prominent competitors in this market are Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Gomez, both of whom have recently been bought to Serie A, by Napoli and Fiorentina respectively. Certainly Gomez in particular is well worth a look, with the creative talents of Giuseppe Rossi playing just behind him.
However, my tip for this particular market is someone who has scored prolifically in the Premier League recently. Carlos Tevez is another ex-Manchester City striker who has moved to Serie A, and like Balotelli can be a controversial figure to say the least. But he was also a very regular goalscorer throughout his time at the Etihad Stadium, and I would be very surprised if he wasn’t a success in the Italian top flight as well.
