Spain v Tahiti – Confederations Cup Preview and Betting Tips

Betting Tips | Article posted on June 18th, 2025

Barcelona and Real Madrid may have suffered humbling defeats at the hands of German opposition in the Champions League semi-finals, but Spain’s unique and distinctive approach to playing football shows no signs of abating. In their first Confederations Cup match against Uruguay goals from Pedro and Roberto Soldado helped Spain to a 2-1 victory, but gave little indication of their complete territorial and possession dominance, in what was a virtuoso performance.

Although Luis Suarez scored a late consolation for Uruguay, the European champions profoundly illustrated during the game that they are the team to beat in this competition, and arguably still the team to beat in world football. This is something that Spain will be keen to emphasise in a tournament which is essentially being used to test Brazil’s preparations ahead of the World Cup they host next year.

The Barcelona triumvirate of Cesc Fábregas, Pedro and Andrés Iniesta all excelled against Nigeria, but may all be rested against a Tahitian team who certainly will not pose much of an opposition for a truly elite team. Spain may make eleven changes to the team that beat Uruguay, but Tahiti shouldn’t make the mistake of being too encouraged by this. Spain boast possibly the best bench in the history of international football, and instead of Spain’s first-team, Tahiti may face the likes of Mata, Cazorla, Silva, Torres, Villa, et al.

Betting Prediction

Whatever the odds are are for Tahiti to win this game, I’m afraid that they are completely unbackable. Even if they bought the referee off, they would struggle to salvage a draw. Obviously, Spain are going to win this game, and win it heavily. It is almost impossible to predict a correct score, but if Nigeria put six past this team, it is possible that Spain will score more. I very rarely make predictions of this nature, and the likely reserve team that Spain may field might have an influence, but I’m going to tip the world champions to win this one by ten goals to 0!

Final Scoreline Prediction:Spain 10 – 0 Uruguay

Other Recommended Bets: Spain win, Over 2.5 Goals, Both Teams to Score.
